Stitchy Goodness!

I purchased buttons for my "Artist Book" class for the year...I also ran upon a great sale a few weeks ago and picked up some trims for my crazy blocks as well as some DMC floss that was only .10 cents a skein. My mom took half of the container and I took the rest. We made out like bandits with the thread as a girl can never have to much thread in her stash. Have thread will stitch!

More blocks...

I added two tatted white butterflies to this block. I did not like all the empty space before and now the block actually feels done to me.

I have made more blocks for the 2020 Crazy Quilt Challenge that Sharon Boggon has put out to all crazy quilters, she can be found here: http://pintangle.com/2020-crazy-quilt-guidelines/. I am currently working on the last of the hexagons for the center flower medallion for my quilt. I am trying to decide if I want to back them with the black for a pop or put them together like I normally would. Any suggestions would be appreciated at this point. I love how the black pops against the colors and makes the flower petal stand out. I think the black lifts it a bit compared to the ones with no black at this point. The other issue I am contemplating is whether or not to use have hexies as fillers or allow the fabric for the next layer be the filler. And with that comes the question of do I crazy them up or just use solid fabric as a filler. So many decisions to contemplate and then decide on. Normally I would wait a bit, but this will also have a part in determining how I go forward with the other sections of this medallion quilt. I have been looking at vintage and antique crazies on the web, but have not found anything to compare with what is in my mind. I guess I will need to draw it out on paper and then go from there.

I don't know why the second pic will not center and after 30 min of trying I gave up!
